Malaysia embraces garden tourism
From The Star Online come snews that the Malaysian government has recognised the potential of gardens to both attract international visitors and stimulate domestic travel. Bright outlook for Canadian Horticulture
A study released by the Canadian Ornamental Horticulture Alliance estimates that ornamental horticulture contributes $14.6 billion dollars to their economy. Furthermore, the authors believe the sector has potential for expansion as Baby Boomers retire and spend more on gardening. Add value with landscaping?
More evidence that landscaping is a good investment - a study of homes in Lubbock, Texas, indicates that quality landscapes can have a substantial effect on sale price. Reported by Jeff Gillman here: New Hort Research that Gardeners Can Use - March '09 Roundup. On the other hand, a 2008 UK study indicated that in a falling property market, most home improvements (including landscaping) don't recover the money spent on them. Gardens and house prices
The widespread opinion that landscaping can enhance property value and/or saleability is given further credence by a recent survey of UK estate agents.
