About these pages

These pages are part of the part of the Calyx Horticultural Services website. You can read more about the background and general aims of the site HERE

"The Native Plants Pages" are a special section for people interested in Australian native plants, native gardens and associated topics. These pages will be looking at the native plant scene across the continent, although with a bias toward the tropical and subtropical regions.

These pages will be subsidised by advertising. As much as possible, it's hoped to concentrate on products and services of relevance to the native plants theme. If your business fits into this category, please get in touch to find out how you can advertise here for very low rates, or click here.

As with the rest of the website, promotional services to non-profit clubs and community organisations such as organic growers groups, permaculture associations, alternative energy societies etc, are free, so send in information about your News & Events.

An important part of promoting Australian natives is to get the information out there about these plants and how to grow them in a garden situation. What is especially needed is information about reliable, garden-worthy plants, and small, safe trees for home and street use, rather than large forest tree species. If you're interested in contributing short articles or photographs, please get in touch. Meanwhile, If you know someone who sells Australian native plant species to the public, please tell them about the Native Nurseries page
Warning: collection, destruction, propagation, movement, sale or purchase of any Australian native plant (including seeds or spores) may be subject to laws and regulations. Be sure to check with appropriate authorities before engaging in these activities, even on private property. Other laws may also apply to the treatment and movement of plant or soil material (for example, to control the spread of weeds, pests and diseases.)
