Here are some possible themes, styles and influences:

Productive gardens (fruits, vegetables, herbs)
Other historical/regional themes
For example: India, Mexico, Ancient Egypt, Inca or Aztec. You could develop a garden inspired by almost any part of the world at any time in history, although in most of Queensland a South American Jungle may be easier to evoke than an alpine meadow.
Fantasy themes
Fairy gardens, World of magical creatures, Alien planet, Prehistoric, or other landscape inspired by myth, legend or literature or cinema might also be possible, with some inagination and good plant knowledge.
