Native Plants

This is a work in progress. However, these pages have been posted "as is" because there may be some useful information and links for you. Read More...

The list contains genera from Queensland AND other states. The emphasis is on plants which will grow (or could grow) in Queensland, but note that some species or varieties within a genus may be more suitable than others. If you need lists of species native to a particular region (for revegetation projects etc), it's suggested you consult relevant publications or environmental organisations active in your area (see General Information).

Some of the species below are only suitable for large or rural properties if planted in the ground. As with any plant, check that it is suitable for the postion before planting.
